The Emergence of Green
2017 sees the emergence of green as the strong colour for the spring and summer season. Try mixing this with blush pink or pale lilac for a harmonious and calm feel to your room, or setting it off with the sharpness of white to add some contrast and highlights. To create a real show stopper you could always install a green wall as a client of ours did in London recently.
Why we love it
Based in the country, we like to draw inspiration from our surroundings as well as our client's personalities. The colour combinations in nature are a solid starting place for this and the textures and variations of greenery are a useful lead for the fabric choices we make in our homes.
How to incorporate green into your home
Decorate with one off pieces
If you are hesitant about jumping fully into a permanent change to green, then test it out with little touches instead. The best aspect about this option is that you can make it as costly or as inexpensive as you like. A vase full of greenery or a row of small topiary in pots, a beautiful glass object or glass lamp. These accents can be echoed around a room to give a fresher spring feel to things.
Cushions
Cushions are an alternative way to add a splash of green and liven up an old piece of furniture. Try these Spring green and white options from Birdie Fortescue, or a richer sage green velvet for a more opulent feel. Trims and braid can make cushions more interesting and if you are making your own you can always use two different fabrics front and back.
